The Splendid Dreams Youth Empowerment and Education Initiative (SDYEEI) joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating Children’s Day 2023 with a heartfelt outreach to an orphanage home in Abuja. The visit was themed around “Investing in the Nigerian Child – Our Collective Responsibility”, reflecting SDYEEI’s vision of nurturing children through love, empowerment, and access to education.
The SDYEEI team arrived with smiles, gifts, snacks, books, and other essential items aimed at making the children feel valued and celebrated. Beyond the gifts, the team spent quality time with the children, engaging them in storytelling sessions, motivational talks, and fun activities that encouraged hope and self-belief.
Speaking during the visit, the founder of SDYEEI, Splendour Ifeoma Onuma, emphasized the importance of showing love and care to every child, regardless of their background or situation.
“Every child deserves to feel seen, loved, and supported. Days like this remind us that the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference in shaping young lives,” she said.
The orphanage management expressed deep gratitude for the organization’s thoughtfulness and consistency in supporting vulnerable children.
One of the caregivers remarked:
